I get an error when launching the World of Tanks client. What should I do?

If you're encountering an error launching World of Tanks, please first make sure that your PC specifications meet the following system requirements for our games:

Minimum system requirements:

  • Operating system: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 10
  • Processor: 2.2 GHz supporting SSE2
  • RAM: 1.5 GB for Windows XP, 2 GB for Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10
  • Video Card: GeForce 6800 / ATI HD X2400 XT with 256 MB RAM & compatible with DirectX9.0c
  • Sound: Compatible with DirectX9.0c
  • Hard-drive space: 16 GB
  • Internet Speed: 256 Kbps

Recommended System Requirements:

  • Operating system: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3330
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • Video card: GeForce GTX660 (2GB) / Radeon HD 7850 2GB, DirectX 9.0c
  • Sound: Compatible with DirectX9.0c
  • Hard-drive space: 30 GB
  • Internet Speed: 1024 Kbps or higher (for voice chat)

Please remember to restart your computer after every patch update

If, when you are trying to launch the game, a critical error occurs, the game client crashes, or the game doesn’t launch, take the following steps:

Step 1:

Install the latest version of drivers for your graphics cards:

Step 2:

Install the latest version of DirectX:

 

If, after these actions have been completed, you are still having difficulty with launching the game please try running Windows Update

Step 3:

Use your Start menu to check for updates.

Windows Update is included in the Control Panel. To check for updates:

  1. Click the Start Button
  2. Go to All Programs
  3. Then click on Windows Update

 

If that does not work, please continue with the following steps. 

Step 4:

  1. Install Visual C++ 2008:
  2. Install Visual C++ 2010:
  3. Install NET Framework 3.5:  
  4. Install NET Framework 4.0:

Step 5:

  1. If you're certain problems with audio, install the latest version of the drivers for your audio card:

  1. If you're still experiencing issues, please submit a ticket to the Technical Support department so they can assist you further
