Ranks provide proof of your experience with a particular tank. The more experience you have with a tank, the higher its rank. Ranks are available for Tier IV vehicles and higher.
Ranks are a great way to show off your mastery and experience with your favorite tank, or one that you're particularly proud of. Just like a profile background or avatar, a rank does not give you any advantage in battle. If ranks are available for a tank, a new tab will appear on its profile screen. Here you will see the tank's current rank, your progress to the next one, achievement counters, and medal statistics.
Ranks will also be displayed in your profile and in the vehicle carousel. Of course, the best part about ranks is that you can show them off to other players! Your rank will be visible:
- On the battle loading screen
- When opening the side team panels during a battle
- On the team battle results screen
Rising Through the Ranks
To increase your rank, you need to research all tank modules and all successor tanks, if there are any. After that, any Combat XP you earn on this tank will count towards upgrading your rank.
All Combat XP earned in any mode and battle type, including all bonuses (Premium Account, boosters, etc.), will count toward rank upgrades.
Your progress to the next rank is displayed on the tank profile screen. Once the progress bar is full, you will be able to unlock the rank using credits. You do not need to spend any XP to unlock a rank.
Every 10th rank—from the 10th to the 50th—is called a Promo Rank. To unlock one, you will need both credits and a certain number of Mastery Badges. Luckily, you won't need to start collecting them from scratch—the ones you've already earned also count.
When a Promo Rank is unlocked (with the exception of the 50th), the background color and icon of the current rank will change.
Counters
The rank screen also displays three new icons. These are your tank's battle performance counters.
The first two are for Damage and Destruction. The third counter is customized based on your tank's special features and combat role. You can learn more about this in the game interface.
You will need to spend Free XP and reach a certain rank to unlock the counters. The Damage Counter is unlocked at Level 7, the Destruction Counter at Level 9, and the Specific Counter at Level 11.
Counter Grades
Common: Levels 1 to 7
Uncommon: Levels 7 to 30
Rare: Levels 30 to 65

As the counter goes up, its icon becomes more elaborate.
Only regular and rating battles contribute to your counter progress.
